Dianne Oseto

IDEA Committee

Dianne is seen, centered, standing with her fellow Committee Members Christian, Mangesh, Alex, William and Miyoko.

Dianne was appointed to the IDEA Committee in February 2022 and is currently serving a 2-year term. She's lived in Brisbane for over 10 years, but naturally keeps a "low profile", as she believed that if she was diligent in being a good neighbor and working hard, she'd one day gain that "acceptance" and be folded into the strong Brisbane community she sensed around her. When she saw an announcement in the STAR and on the signboards that the City had open seats for its new IDEA Committee and were encouraging those with diverse backgrounds to apply, she realized it was her time to speak up.

"It took a lot of courage, but by joining the IDEA Committee, I felt I gained self-confidence, realized I could make a difference, and most importantly, I felt very welcomed and a part of Brisbane."

For her day job, Dianne is a legal assistant doing high-level paralegal work for litigation and immigration and also earned a J.D. from a SF law school. Her husband, Yoshimi, is a professional photographer (with his studio right here in Brisbane on Valley Drive) and helped take the above group photo of the IDEA Committee.

We're so excited for all that Dianne will learn and contribute as she completes her inaugural term on the IDEA Committee!
