Clay Holstine, after nearly 25 years as Brisbane’s City Manager (the longest-serving one ever in San Mateo County), announced today that he would be retiring at the end of this year, in December.

“It has been my privilege to serve this community these last 25 years, and now, it is my goal to work with City staff and the Council over the next 7 months to lay the foundation for a smooth transition,” said City Manager Holstine. Fun fact, Clay started in his role on his birthday, and was sung “Happy Birthday” at the Council Meeting later that evening. A colorful start to an amazing career with the City of Stars.

The City is now commencing the search for an Executive Recruitment firm to assist in the selection of the City’s next City Manager. Stay tuned…
