Nancy Colman - 2018

Nancy Colman

Nancy Colman is known throughout the community for their contributions in many areas and is devoted to personally improving the quality of life for Brisbane residents.  This individual is always there with a helping hand, bright smile, and great attitude.

In the past, Nancy donated countless hours co-founding BEST/PTO and initiating fundraising efforts to benefit our schools.

More recently, nancy spent the last few years working tirelessly to design an organization that has become a perfect fit for the Brisbane community.  She facilitated community forums, attended meetings of similar organizations in neighboring communities, networked, and formed a governing board for the organization.  Without her vision, perseverance, and dedication, Brisbane Village Helping Hands would not exist today.

Brisbane Village Helping Hands is a grass roots all-volunteer community organization whose mission is to help residents "age in place" and stay connected to their community. The Village provides a way for older residents who want to remain in their homes to request help, and for community volunteers to lend a hand. In other words, it’s about neighbors helping neighbors.  Today, the organization boasts approximately 50 members and 50 volunteers and just hit the300 mark for fulfilled service requests. Nancy has unselfishly responded to requests from members on a daily basis, and even while on vacation!

After many years of volunteerism in our community, we take this opportunity to express our gratitude to Nancy Colman. Thank you, Nancy, for your unselfish and dedicated service has made a significant difference in our community and contributes to the wonderful quality of life in Brisbane!
