Shop Local for Your Holidays

shop local

We wanted to encourage you to keep your holiday dollars local as much as possible this season.  Many restaurants and services offer gift cards and gift certificates.  Consider how you can support our local businesses during what has been a very challenging year, especially with the November 16, 2020 roll-back to the Red Tier for San Mateo County.

We are aware of several fundraisers that directly benefit community members and the schools.  The Brisbane Lions Club has a Holiday Fundraiser where they are partnering with residents as well as our local Core Service Agency to ensure all families in need are able to receive gifts this year.

Brisbane's Middle School (Lipman) has set up a Holiday Shopping website, offering kitchen gifts, handbags, wrapping paper, and lots of stocking stuffers; 40% goes directly to the school.  Please take a moment to check it out and feel good knowing that your purchases are going towards supporting Brisbane's youth!

There are also organizations that benefit Brisbane residents in impactful ways, such as Samaritan House, who provides the warm meals each Monday and Wednesday for 60+ Brisbane Seniors.  Over the past few months, Samaritan House has seen an incredible surge in the number of people seeking help - including many folks who never thought they'd need survival assistance.  They recently launched A Better Tomorrow Starts Now, to ensure that our neighbors in need will be able to weather this storm.

The Brisbane Community Response Coalition is still activated and have been meeting the needs of community members since the start of the pandemic.  If you need help or would like to offer assistance, please visit the BCRC website today.  Healthcare professionals, there is also a special section just for you to indicate how you can use assistance during a time where you are giving so much.

And let us not forget our weekly Thursday Farmers Market in Brisbane, happening from 2-6pm in the Community Park.  Thank you to the people that help us food food on our tables.

Thank you for supporting the Brisbane community by shopping local this holiday season!
