Senior Housing

Senior Housing

This mixed-use development, encompassing an entire city block, is located in the heart of downtown Brisbane and serves as a city gateway.  The project design acknowledges the development’s role as transition between the downtown commercial district and the adjacent residential neighborhood.  Financed by the former Brisbane Redevelopment Agency, Visitacion Gardens Apartments combines a public senior center with 14 apartments for low- and moderate-income seniors.  Visitacion Garden Apartments is managed by Bridge Housing.  To get more information, visit their Bridge Housing's website.

Community Living Campagin

For something that's right next to Brisbane, there's Cayuga Community Connectors, a service of the Community Living Campaign.  This is a free service, with no fees or dues, and allows one to become a part of a neighborhood group.  They have regular activities such as Exercise Class every M/W/F 9:45am-10:45am at Bethel Church (2525 Alemany Blvd.), a Weekly Walk Thursdays at 9:30am at Cayuga Park (301 Naglee Ave.), and Shooting Basketballs each Thursday at 10am at Cayuga Park.

Brisbane Village Helping Hands

And for something homegrown and local, there's Brisbane Village Helping Hands.  The non-profit got started when a group of Brisbane residents came together to create a grass roots all-volunteer community organization whose mission is to help residents "age in place" and stay connected to their community here in town.  The Village provides a way for older residents who want to remain in their homes to request help, and for community volunteers to lend a hand. In other words, it’s really about neighbors helping neighbors. Membership dues are $20 per year to help cover their operating costs, including liability insurance. This fee may be waived in cases of hardship.  Find out more at brisbanevillage.org/faq
